The pig that ate the webcam…

This week has been a week of contrasting jobs.

We were called out to Rand Farm Park earlier this week to fix the webcam for them. It required little time for us to diagnose the problem – the client was correct – the pig had eaten the webcam.

No repair was attempted we simply bought a new camera.

To improve our response times we undertake some work by using remote control software across the internet to take control of our client’s machines. In one day this week we solved problems for clients in Chelmsford, Newark, Ramsgate, Lincoln and for a client drinking coffee in a motorway service station. All before lunch.

Our automated data backup and recovery systems saved the day for a client, where someone had deleted a folder of files from their server. Again we carried out the recovery quickly by using our remote control software.

Security is a big part of our services and with this in mind we installed a secure hidden wireless network for the senior staff at one of our clients who run a public venue. They wanted the flexibility of working at “hot desks” with  laptops and iPads but did not want any of their visitors knowing that there was wireless in the venue. We have also added secure online data storage to this network so they can share sensitive data with each other without worrying about whether unauthorised people may be able to get access to the information.

We even got the screwdrivers out this week, when we had to repair a high end work station PC.

But the best story if the week has to be the “the pig that ate the webcam.”
