Windows 11 is here

Here is an email we have sent to our clients

Hi,

You may have heard that Windows 11 has now been released by Microsoft. It will be a replacement to Windows 10. Many of our clients have asked how it will affect them and I thought it would be a good idea to let you all know what is going on.

Basically, for now Windows 11 is an optional upgrade and won’t be forced out to you. You can continue to use Windows 10 and for some of you this is a good idea because you may have customised software running in your organisation.

We are doing our best to make contact with the suppliers of the software that we know about and find out if it is compatible with Windows 11. If there is something you are using which you may think we are not aware of then please let us know as soon as you can.

Here is a link for the Microsoft Compatibility checker. It will check to see if your PC is capable of running Windows 11. For customers that don’t use any specific customised software then it would be a good idea to make the jump, if you don’t like it you can go back within 10 days. Obviously we will be on hand to help with this.

Windows 10 will stop being supported by Microsoft in 2025. Meaning that all the updates will be stopped and open up vulnerabilities.
