Recently, we’ve had several enquiries about upgrading PCs to Windows 11. As widely reported, Windows 11 has specific hardware requirements, and many users are understandably concerned. The hesitation often stems from worries about disruption, cost, and compatibility. However, we’re here to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
It’s important to note that support for Windows 10 officially ends on 14 October. After this date, systems running Windows 10 may become vulnerable to cyber-attacks, viruses, and other security threats. While Microsoft has indicated that some extended support options may be available, these are not guaranteed and may not be suitable for all users—especially businesses.
If your business relies on custom software that isn’t yet compatible with Windows 11, you may have a valid reason to delay the upgrade. However, for most users, upgrading is the safest and most future-proof option. We strongly recommend checking with your IT provider to ensure they’re aware of your current setup and any potential upgrade needs.
With just over a month remaining, time is of the essence. If your business operates multiple PCs, be aware that demand for compatible hardware may increase as the deadline approaches, potentially leading to supply shortages.
ACT NOW! especially if your business is Cyber Essentials accredited. Failing to upgrade could mean falling out of compliance, which may have serious implications for your cybersecurity certification and overall data protection.
If you haven’t already started the upgrade process, we urge you to do so immediately. Whether you need help assessing hardware compatibility, sourcing new equipment, or planning the transition, our team is ready to assist.
