My iPhone 5 Experience pt6 – Accessories

Protection

I use my phone a lot when I am backpacking, for photos and navigation, so some type of protective case and a screen protector is essential. I bought the screen protectors from Apple – there were two in the pack and they have a matt finish which helps make the screen more readable in bright conditions.

The case I got from Tesco, with the groceries! It is a transparent soft case which improves the grip on the phone – and it cost $4.00, so I did not worry about cutting out a little of the plastic around the lightening connector hole so the lightening/30 pin adaptor would still fit.

Car iPod Holder

A number of years ago I bought a Belkin car iPod holder to charge and play a Nano iPod through the car stereo system, this was before the iPhone 4 was launched. When I got my iPhone 4 I was able to shuffle the plastic fittings supplied for various other iPod models, so the holder held the phone firmly. Now having fitted the case to my iPhone 5, and cut it for the Apple lightening to 30 pin adaptor I have again shuffled the fittings and phone still fits in the holder.
