Working to increase Branston Business!
Our village and the nearby villages have a remarkably high number of small businesses, not always visible on the street. By creating a local identity and networking, so we know what is available to buy locally and sharing good ideas, we will increase business and enjoy the benefits.
There are bigger organisations and we can work with them, but this is about doing things locally, focused on business in Branston and the surrounding villages.
We have a regular meeting on the last Thursday of the month at the Waggon and Horses in Branston – the meeting starts at about 5.30pm with open networking. The formal meeting starts at about 6pm and is finished by about 7.15pm. We email out an agenda to all members and visitors before the event, as a reminder and so we have a structure to the meeting.
Everyone attending a meeting has a minute to tell the others about their business skills and the customers they are looking for. We vary the meetings from month to month, activities include:
- Guest speakers
- Meetings with other local business groups
- Business education – for the members by the members
- Business discussions
- Social events – many members regularly stay on after the meeting and eat at the pub
The meetings are supported by Andy at the Waggon and Horses so we buy a drink at the bar – tea and coffee is available.
If you run a business or own a business in or around Branston you are welcome to join us.
Clive has given two of the Network’s presentations, here are the notes from them:
